The Butte County Office of Education's Migrant Education is a federally funded program designed to provide supplementary educational and support services to eligible migrant students. Migrant Education Contracts with the Galt Joint Union Elementary School District (GJUESD) to provide education services to students in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade and their families in Galt.
Currently, the GJUESD enrolls over 225 migrant children in Pre-Kidergarten through 8th Grade. Galt has the highest migrant population in Region 2.

DISTRICT MIGRANT EDUCATION SERVICES
GJUESD partners with Migrant Education to provide the following education services:
- After School Intervention: Migrant students receive priority enrollment in the district After School Education & Safety (ASES) Program.
- Center-Based Preschool: Migrand Education funds preschool for eligible 3 and 4 year olds at the Fairsite Readiness Center.
- Home-Base Preschool Program: Provided to migrant 3 and 4 year olds who cannot access the district's site-based services.
- Summer Academy: Pre-Kindergarten through 7th grade migrant students attend a 4 week summer academy taught by district staff.
- Parents Advisory Committee (PAC): The PAC meeting are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at Fairsite in Room 20 from 4:00pm-5:00pm
MIGRANT EDUCATION ELIGIBILITY
Families may be eligible to receive supplemental educational and health services if they have made a move within the last 3 years in order to seek or obtain work in agriculture, logging, or fishing due to economic necessity and have children who are younger than 22 years of age.
Parents who may be eligible to receive services may complete the form below and turn it in at any of our school offices.
